Alfred-Almond Central School District is currently seeking candidates for the position of :
Teacher Aide            

         START DATE:                                    September 1, 2026
         WORK CALENDAR:                          10 Months
         HOURS PER DAY:                             
7 hours (8:00 am – 3:30 pm) including unpaid lunch
         MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:           High School Diploma
         HOURLY RATE:                                 $17.45 per hour (As per AASSA contractual agreement)

Alfred-Almond is hiring for an Anticipated Maintenance Assistant Position, starting August 24, 2006.

Alfred-Almond Central School District is currently seeking candidates for the position of :
Maintenance Assistant (Civil Service – Non-Competitive )              

         START DATE:                                    Approximately - August 24, 2026
         NUMBER OF HOURS:                      8 hours/day, 12 months/year
         MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:           Graduation from high school or possession of a high school
                                                                            equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in one or more
                                                                            of the mechanical or construction trades.

         HOURLY PAY RANGE:                      $23.35 - $25.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience)                                                           

Duties to be performed include, but are not limited to:

  • Helps install and repair wiring systems and electrical fixtures and equipment, including switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, fuses, etc.;
  • Builds or repairs bookcases, shelves, desks, tables;
  • Performs a variety of grounds maintenance activities including snow and ice removal and the care of trees, shrubs, and lawns;
  • Maintains athletic fields in a school;
  • Operates and performs preventive maintenance on a low-pressure heating system;
  • Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment;
  • Cleans or replaces filters and screens;
  • Patches driveways and sidewalks;
  • Paints building interiors and exteriors and performs a variety of building maintenance tasks;
  • Performs a variety of janitorial tasks in sweeping, mopping and cleaning building interiors;
  • Serves as a general handyman performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks;
  • Utilizes a variety of hand, power and special tools in the performance of the duties;

Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:
Good knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology, and safety precautions used in maintenance activities; skill in the use of common tools used in maintenance work; ability to follow oral and written instructions; willingness to perform routine manual work; mechanical aptitude; manual dexterity; and good physical condition.

($22.50/hour (regular driver) $22.30/hour (substitute driver)
Alfred-Almond is seeking full/part-time and sub-bus drivers.
A Class B (CDL with P&S Endorsement) License is required or Alfred-Almond will provide PAID training.
Wages will be based on experience.
Also, seeking full/part time bus monitors.         ($16.70/hour)
